My brother lived his life to the fullest, he embraced every moment and made sure laughter was a part of his every day life. No doubt his love was BIG for Nancy, family, friends and most importantly for God, whom he put at the top of his list every single day. I loved my brother so much, we had a special bond and connection even with a 12 year age gap. He was the one I sent jokes and political memes too and he reciprocated. We got each other. We had the same sense of humor. I will miss his big boisterous laugh and his huge grin from ear to ear. You know that I can never remember a time when Teddy was ever in a bad mood. He always showed his best side and made you feel good just bring in his presence. Our Dad died when we were young, I was 12, he was 24. Teddy stepped up his role of brother to mentor for me. Teddy walked me down the aisle at my wedding. On the best days of my life. He was by my side, cracking jokes down the aisle in true Teddy fashion. When Chris and I started a family, I remember Teddy & Nancy saying, “ Our role is to be the best aunt and uncle to your girls.” They formed a connection to our girls right away, even with the distance between them. As the girls entered adulthood and starting forming their own political opinions, he would send them group texts of political jokes, ( funny to him but maybe not as funny to them) scripture of the day from Jesus Calling, good reads, spider phobia, pictures of he and Nancy, every card had his signature Fred Flinkstone drawing on it, UP stuff and really anything that was on his mind. He kept the conversations going. That was him… My heart aches for a text, call, FaceTime from him, but knowing where he is and how he always talked about his love for God I know he’s in that better place. Like the Mercy Me song, I Can Only Imagine: I can only imagine when all I will do is forever, forever worship YOU I can only imagine….. This isn’t goodbye, it’s until we meet again…..
