Jimbo,
O' the memories I have of you, us, and others sharing brotherly love, tears, laughter, and HIS word. I have my Jesus Calling you gave me on my desk for encouragement, and now bittersweet reminders of you and HIM. I will forever treasure our times together over a quick phone call, lunch at Bonefish, fireside at Heart of a Warrior, in an office helping make the next deal, and meeting others you so loved. I recall the early days when we met, as you joined our office and I was amazed & baffled by all your post-it notes. Little did know how all those, at that time meant so much to your day-to-day work... Work meaning business deals, and the love of the Lord & people you had! Sure wish I could stand by you, read them, and have you tell me the stories behind them, again. Love You Brother - Until We Meet Again. ❤️
Shane - Thanks for posting these pics and sharing those good memories of our Brother, Jim. As was the case with you and seemingly countless others, Jimbo was a close friend to me. I never told him this but I considered him a member of my "personal board of directors". I will miss doing life with him, breaking bread at Bonefish (and at Sheraton Imperial for many years before that!) and exchanging good reads, including (not coincidentally), Imagine Heaven. I enjoyed Jim's quick whit and love for board games, particularly, Euchre. He never got to teach me that one. Jim was simply fun to be around. EVERYONE loved, Jim! I also admired what a devoted and role model of a husband he was to Nancy. But, most notable, was Jim's faith in Jesus, his servant's heart and the natural ease with which he shared The Gospel. I think it was the transparency of his stories and life lessons shared that made Jim's testimony so impactful. I feel blessed to have known him and to be able to count him amongst my closest friends. I shall miss him.
My prayers for peace and comfort go out to you, Nancy. - Bob VW
This post brings tears to my eyes. The fact is, Jim brought kindness and a sparkling smile to each room that he entered. He had the ability to set people at ease and help them feel seen in the most authentic way. Jim (and this group of incredible men) helped me through a very difficult period of my life. And I am truly grateful I got to be a part of it. Jim was one lifesized stickie note that said, “I will shine the light for all.” And what a beautiful reminder of how to approach this one, precious life. Jim, your presence on earth will surely be missed. Much love.
